Over the years, but especially following the recent presidential election, political divisions have created a turbulent climate of stress, uncertainty, and ideological conflicts both within the nation and within the church, driving people to embrace rigid belief systems, often at the expense of unity and understanding. Within the greater church of God, we are warned not to allow ideological differences to overshadow our shared faith, far greater than the lesser issues which currently divide us. If we appropriate the mind of Christ (Philippians 2:1-2; 3:14-16, and I Corinthians 2:16), we should be able to deactivate the hostilities we have generated in our carnal minds and instead focus on the common shared spiritual foundation, seeking to work together in faith despite the overwhelming chaos which has heretofore divided us.
